![]() Hi welcome to my gear page :-) I am mainly collecting rare American Jackson Guitars and vintage Fender Stratocaster/Telecasters. So if you're planning to sell your Jackson USA Firebird/Explorer/Roswell Rhoads Custom Shop guitar, please email me the pictures with your lowest price :-) I have also luckily acquisited some guitars which once owned by famous rock guitarists from Ebay auction.. some of them are Ibanez & Starfield. I DO play all of these guitars which you can see it at my youtube channel: http://youtube.com/mayzantube . I personally customized how my guitars will sound like, for example: the pickup sound, tremolo/bridge setup, cabling, stompboxes & amps! I know every single thing of the sound of my guitars and I know what I want :-) But when it comes to the luthier work, I will let my great repair guy friend like: Gilles & Sangkan. :-) Some people ask me why I collected Jackson guitars. The first reason maybe because I am heavily influenced by Marty Friedman who used Jackson Guitars for more than 1 decade. When Marty sent me one of his personally owned Jackson guitars, it's my first time to play the american-made Jackson guitar. I love it at the first touch because every part used on this guitar is high quality. For example: the beautiful ebony fretboard & Floyd Rose Original tremolo. Even most of hi-end Ibanez guitars still use rosewood fretboard and licensed tremolo which will not let your guitar stay in tune & sound good. The neck is very tough, the finish is very neat & flawless, their shape designs are very perfect and the sound is very flat. Thats why, I have been dreaming to be a jackson collector. I hope you enjoy my guitar gallery, at last I would like to thank the guys who always help me to buy the gears: Sonny Rafiq (you're the best!), Glenn Cooke & Erik Hartono. Custom Jackson Guitar made for Marty Friedman. I received this guitar from Marty Friedman(formerly Megadeth band) on Sept 6th, 2002 at 14:25. Marty Friedman is an ex-Megadeth guitarist, he's also doing a lot of great solo albums. If you like to know more about Marty, please visit his official website: MARTYFRIEDMAN.COM. ![]() GUITAR SPECIFICATIONS BRAND: Jackson Guitars. MODEL: Marty Friedman Signature Model (Custom Made). IDENTIFICATION: #69 behind the bridge & #4 on the top of the body (added by Marty himself). This guitar was signed by Marty specially for me! :) MADE IN: American (USA) Built. COLOR: Mirror-like Black Gloss Finish. AGE: 10 Years Old (Since 1998). BODY: High Quality Neck-thru Alder Body. SHAPE: Kelly NECK: Maple Neck-through-body Construction, Very Comfortable Thin Neck. BRIDGE/TREMOLO: Kahler 3310 Fixed Bridge. PICKUP: 1 Seymour Duncan JB TB4 Pick-up. FINGERBOARD: Bound Ebony Fingerboard. INLAY: Mother-of-pearl Sharkfin Inlays. FRETS: 24 Frets (Dunlop 6120, Normal Size). VOLUME: 1 Rotary Knob. TONE: Yes, It Has No Tone Control. NUT: Graphite-like Nut TUNERS: Standard Jackson Tuners. HARDCASE: VERY LARGE, But Not Heavy Case. THE HISTORY Now, what makes this guitar so special for me? Marty sent this guitar directly to my house, as a bonus since I'm working as his official webmaster ;) The Jackson MF model is Marty's exact specs, his Guitar Technician (Jimmy Amason) measured his fret size, etc, his preferences. Jimmy worked with Marty since '95 & he knew Marty's playing better than probably anyone else. He would listen to Marty with ear monitors as Marty played lively, and after the show he would say something like, "In 'A Tout Le Monde' if you moved your right hand about 1/4 of an inch to the right during the solo, you would get a nicer sound." And he was always right... His technician ordered this guitar at Jackson Guitars, then they sent it out on Megadeth's Risk tour. The guitar was used by Marty Friedman during RISK TOUR & THE RECORD. Also, Marty just used this guitar on a session for a possible Magna Carta Record before Marty sent it to me. The number:69 behind the bridge is a cool number for Marty :) WANNA KNOW JUST HOW RARE THIS GUITAR IS?
A good USA quality built is everything. The secret of its TIGHT, DRY & BIG sound is the neck-thru construction and just the wood itself. The guitar is very resonant & seems to cover most styles. I love the Kahler 3310 fixed bridge, which is really awesome, I like it a lot more than Original Floyds even. (no more Floyd Rose derived tuning issues!!) This is a guitar that was built by people who care, and not those that rely on an inherited tradition (Fender, Gibson, etc)... it's a guitar that challenges you to create tone with your fingers, rather than a pick-up selector and tone control. Obviously, this is a guitar for the thoughtful player. One pick-up, no tone control. It's all in the fingers babe!!

![]() Grover Jackson himself - in his final days at Jackson - made this guitar for Harry Cody of Shotgun Messiah and Stu Hamm. Harry Cody used this guitar on Stu Hamm's album: "The Urge" and it is one of two guitars used on the Shotgun Messiah's album: "Second Coming". Anything with a whammy bar was recorded with this very guitar: "SexDrugsRockNRoll", "Living Without You", "Heartbreak Blvd", "Trouble", to name a few. Cody also used this guitar on Shotgun Messiah's 89-90 tour. Widely respected and critically acclaimed, Cody was extensively featured in the three big guitar magazines of the late 80s/early 90s - Guitar World, Guitar Player, Guitar For The Practicing Musician - and rock magazines too numerous to mention: RIP, Kerrang, Metal Hammer, Metal Edge, Circus etc. The book "Fender Custom Shop Guitar Gallery" lists him as a celebrity customer. Rolling Stone Magazine called him "...inventive and articulate enough to invite comparisons to Eddie Van Halen". Cody's discography includes: Shotgun Messiah - "Shotgun Messiah", Shotgun Messiah - "Second Coming", Shotgun Messiah - "I Want More", Shotgun Messiah - "Violent New Breed", Stuart Hamm - "Kings Of Sleep", Stuart Hamm - "The Urge". At the time this Jackson was assembled - before Cody's eyes, in the Ontario factory - Grover told Cody that the body was a prototype Charvel body. (It is the first prototype body for the limited edition Charvel "88"!). The neck was custom made to Cody's specs and has been documented. ![]() The idea was to make a perfectly flat fingerboard - no fret radius. Grover thought that might feel weird, and suggested an almost-but-not-quite-flat board, and so it was. It was also scalloped, to Cody's specs. String bending is effortless due to the flat board. The pickup is an active Jackson with two batteries and tiny EQ switches in the control cavity. The neckplate is a Charvel Fort Worth with a very low number - 0016 This killer sounding, killer playing guitar comes with it's own custom Jackson hardshell case and handwritten signed certificate of authenticity by Harry Cody himself (it explains the guitar, how it came about, as well as the unique features & parts on the guitar). When Grover Jackson finally gets the respect he's due, what will a one-of-a-kind with documentation be worth? It's bought from Harry Cody himself and have everything it came with, including the batteries and the "copper pick" that Harry used when ripping out the solos' for "Second Coming". But that's Harry's secret to some of his solo tricks. That little laser ray gun sound he makes (like on the Explorer) is made with a copper pick, layed sideways on the strings, moved in a circular movement. That's right, it's all intact & virtually untouched since it's recieved from Harry. I still has the strings that Harry put on it & tuned to perfection, just as it's recieved. Not to mention it is one of, if not the last guitar Grover handmade at Jackson guitars before his departure. Here is the Harry Cody's explanation about the lack of a logo on the headstock:

This one of a kind, never to be reproduced by Jackson again, Jackson Explorer body guitar also has a very rare reverse Gibson style headstock (How often do you see that?) :-) This Guitar is often referred to as a “law suit” guitar because of the body design and headstock shape as the designs were “borrowed” from Gibson. ![]() 1. Mike Lipe changed the neck to a "Starfield" neck and still has "Richie Kotzen" on the headstock. And Richie autographed the back of the headstock. It reads "Richie Kotzen 2004". As many of you know, Starfield was a division of Ibanez that Richie endorsed in the early 90's before he switched to Fender. Richie installed a thumb switch Hipshot Xtender for the low E string. 2. The pickups were changed by Richie as well. It has a blue Fast Track 1 Dimarzio (DP181) in the bridge position and a chrome lipstick style dimarzio in the neck position. 3. The tone quest will never end. Everyone will search for the better tone from time to time. I believe that the better you play guitar, the more taste of sound you grow. So if you dream to have a better sound, you must make yourself a better guitar player first :-) I understand that a good guitar sound is relative, it depends on your taste, your music style, knowledge & culture. The more you know about what is used by your favorite player, the better you will be. My advice is if you're looking for the world best stompboxes & amplifiers, you should learn more about the most basic things:
When it comes to stompboxes & amplifier things, you should know
Before you understand above things, I recommend you: don't ever try to add any fancy effect like: pitch-shifter, whammy, octaver/octavia, wah-wah, delay, sustainer, fuzz, flanger, phaser, reverb, etc. Or any stompboxes that you actually rarely use. The longer the routing, the more tone you will lose! The way how you equalize your amplifier is one of the most important thing to maximize your amp features. My advice: when you first try a new amp.. try to turn down your middle & treble knob as low as possible, then slowly add the value only when you need it. By using this way, your ear will not be stressed. In my opinion, a good amp will put all your weaknesses out there for all to hear if you are just getting into playing guitar and don't have your chops down, but it picks up every detail of your playing if you are a good player. :-) I understand to learn all the above things you might need to spend a lot of money, but actually the more you know about the stuff, the more money you will save for your future GAS. No more wasting money for useless stuff.
![]() My main amp, I absolutely love this A/B class amp. I have finally found the tone in my head I have been searching for. This amp is expensive, but is an end to a lifelong quest for tone. It offers more punch than any amps, high quality brown sound overdrive, thick crunchy tones, tons of headroom, smooth, percussive & touch sensitivity is perfect. Especially the clarity: you can hear every note on this amp even if the gain is turned to 11! I can't imagine if you can find an amp with a better overdrive sound. It cuts through, but it doesn't harsh & brittle. This amp doesn't need a third channel, you can go from a gorgeous clean to an SRV sound, to all out rock, just with your volume control. If you once listened to Blues Saraceno's tone in Poison album, this amp sounds even closer than the Dirty Boy amp itself. This is the amp that Eet Sjahranie (Edane) mostly uses from Borneo era until now. Designed in glam rock era: 1987, this is definitely not a pure metal amp like ENGL Powerball, but you will be amazed how versatile this amp is.. high quality overdrive.. without sacrificing & compressing your original tone (yes, most metal amps do) ;) This amplifier uses 4 Sovtek 5881 power tubes , 5 12ax7 preamp tubes, Eminence Legend speakers, the finest Military Grade components and specially designed transformers. Built like a tank. It's water proof & fire proof and totally handbuilt, every amp is wired, start to finish, by one technician. Soldano said this is the best guitar amp that money can buy, but I dare to say that this is the best amp you can dream of... the tone for lifetime. I guess that's why Soldano also offers lifetime guarantee on all their amps (although it has nothing to do with it if you live outside USA - just like me ;) I previously owned Marshall Mk 2 1959 reissue, Orange Thunderverb, Dirty Boy, Line 6 HD147 & Vetta II, Randall Cyclone & Krankenstein... NOTHING touches the Soldano SLO 100's definition and clarity at ANY setting or volume! If you can afford this amp... buy it, if you can't... find a way. You won't regret it.
![]() My main amp, finally.. my dream amp. It has everything I need in an amp! :-) The INVADER 150 is different! Maximum flexibility and control for any given playing situation. Easy to handle, focuses on pure tube tone. This amp does not feature the classic 4 channel head layout of a Clean-Crunch-Rhythm-Lead channel split. Named Channel 1, 2, 3, 4, these channels are capable of producing different Overdrive / Gain structures - from Crunch to High Gain. Every overdrive voicing in the channels sounds different. In conjunction with the HI / Lo Gain switch and a separate EQ section for each channel, there are no limits. Once you've tried it, you won't escape the INVADER. AMPLIFIER SPECIFICATIONS
